Prayer Guy

Thoughts from "just a guy" that prays

Pillars -/- Numbers 9: 19

When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time, the Israelites
obeyed the Lord’s order and did not set out.

I imagine the recently freed people of God, and the pillar and their
interaction. At first, as the woke and left their tents, the first thing they
did was look at the tabernacle. "Is the pillar of cloud still there? Okay
we can go about our day." End of the day, look to the tabernacle, Is the
pillar of fire there?" Go into their tents and rest. Over time, I imagine
they didn’t pay that much attention to the pillar. To what God had provided to
guide them.

I admit, after 35 years of walking in relationship with God, I find myself
NOT taking the time to really pause and look for the pillar, to look for Gods
guidance. I’ve honestly found myself taking the direction of God for granted,
and not in a good way.

So I’m wrestling with this idea, and working to make sure I look for that direction. I really don’t want to be in a place where I look for the pillar, and it’s moved on without me. God, give me eyes to see, and heart that yearns to see your direction and guidance for my life.
