Prayer Guy

Thoughts from "just a guy" that prays

3 thoughts on keep it…

I want to start this blog out, by recognizing Pete Greig. He is one of the founders of the 24-7 prayer ministry. Check out their website there are a lot of resources.

I’ve never met the man, but I came across a 5-part blog he published on prayer. Throughout that series he stressed these 3 ideas. I’ve been encouraged and challenged by them. I hope they impact your prayer life as well.

  1. KEEP IT REAL as you pray, don’t feel like you need to pretty up your prayers. God see’s our hearts regardless. So, when you come to the Father in prayer, be real. Don’t quacsh or hide your feelings, God created you, do you think He doesn’t know your thoughts, fears, and pain. So be real, yell at Him if you need to. Hes’ big enough to handle it. He won’t judge you or shut you down because of how you feel. In fact, He may come to you in His Grace and Mercy and bring Comfort.
  2. KEEP IT SIMPLE We don’t need to come to God with our 3-point presentation, and our 5-step plan. Just come to Him as your Father God, trusting that His was is the best way.
  3. KEEP IT UP Gods timing is NOT our timing, so even when you don’t feel like your prayer are effective or are doing anything more than bouncing off the ceiling, keep praying. Feel dis-heartened like maybe Gods not listening, keep praying. Tanke those feelings to Him as you pray, going back to Keep it Real.
